We regret to inform you that another of our Greatest Generation has passed. Raymond O. Pollen passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on June 7, 1943 as a member of the Military Police Corps; trained with the 511th Military Police Battalion, Company B in Washington State; and was assigned to the 819th Military Police Company, 20th Corps, 3rd Army, Europe, where he served 21 months. He was honorably discharged December 8, 1945.
His dedication to service continued after his service to our country. He spent 35 years as a missionary in Niger and Nigeria. After that he worked with International Students International, ministering to foreign nationals going to school locally.
The Patriot Guard has been invited to show our honor and respect to this soldier. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 30, 2010 at Perry Hall, MD, we will participate in the procession to the cemetery.
