 Louis J. Dorbert (December 10, 1940 - May 25, 2009)

Snuffy & Betty at Dulaney ValleyI have some very sad news...  Our friend and fellow Rider Louis Dorbert, better known to all as Snuffy, has passed away.  Evidently after arriving home from the Dulaney Valley Memorial event, he suffered a heart attack and died.

Snuffy with Betty in the sidecar had become fixtures at so many of our Rides.  We have lost a great friend and a great Patriot.  He will be missed terribly.

Please keep Betty in your thoughts and prayers.

We have been invited to pay our respects to our fallen brother.

 Email from Betty's family:

Hi I am Bob, Betty's youngest son. I am not a member of  the PGR but I would like to say thanks to all the members for there support on the passing of Lou (Snuffy) Dorbert. Lou is a big part of our family and a very kind and loving man. Our mother loves him dearly and Lou loved her . Our family will miss him very much as I know all of you will. We all love Lou.

Thanks Again

I want to personally thank each and every one of you who came out to Honor Lou on the 28th.

It was a fitting tribute to a wonderful man, who touched our lives.  He would have loved every minute of it.  The laughter and the tears mingled so that none of us could stay too sad for too long.  I could hear Snuffy's laugh and voice throughout the evening.  I have no doubt that is the way he would have wanted us to honor him.  I know the family deeply appreciated your support.

Lou, farewell my friend.  I hope somewhere you are looking down smiling on us and riding

We have been doing the Patriot Guard Rider mission in Maryland since January 2006.  Lou is the first Rider we have ever lost.  Please all of you Ride Safe, take care of yourselves and families.
