MOUNT AIRY -- When Ted and Ann Nettles talk about the work they do with the Maryland Patriot Guard to help wounded veterans being treated at Walter Reed in Bethesda, it gets personal.

The Mount Airy couple first got involved with the Maryland Patriot Guard six years ago to honor fallen veterans.

It turned into much more for them when Ann Nettles was asked to lead the Help on the Homefront program, which works closely with those recovering at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda.
